Solidarity conduct, every day
Solidarity conduct, every day
Thousands of children, youth, adults and elderly people will benefit directly and indirectly by the donations to 100 philanthropic institutions on February 24, in Brazil, and March 9, in Argentina by Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA (CGD-PV) (General Center for the Tithe PRÓ-VIDA) and by Central do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA de Buenos Aires (CD-PV) (General Center for the Tithe PRÓ-VIDA – Buenos Aires), respectively. There were two days of events, but the social action is not limited to them. Nor could it be, because it is the result of the commitment of our movement, something that guides our work around the world, day after day: the construction of a happy world.
Many people may consider utopia to obtain a society that is fair for everyone, said Fernando Janikian, on behalf of CGD-PV, at the donation ceremony held at the PRÓ-VIDA Club in Araucarias, in the region of Curitiba (Brazil), citing the words of Dr. Celso at the time of the first donation of CGD-PV, 44 years ago. But Dr. Celso himself showed that this much better world is possible and left an example of how to do it. “Those who have, give to those who do not have,” as Marcelo Landolfo said, representing CD-PV Buenos Aires at the donation ceremony that took place at the PRÓ-VIDA Club in Baradero (Argentina).
Therefore, the main objective of the donations is not to solve all the demands of the institutions – it’s known, new needs will arise – but leaving a mark that each person who extends his hand to the next makes a difference. But when do we awaken to this greater solidarity conduct? When, by the expansion of consciousness, we begin to understand that we integrate a neighborhood, a city, a planet and that our actions influence the environment. And opportunities to have more supportive conduct appear every day, all the time, being in material aid or emotional support, for example.
Therefore, building a fairer world depends on us, and is possible. “Now we begin to glimpse the image of a lily, the one that is born in the mud, that grows in the mud, but never gets dirty by it… We dream of a field filled with lilies.”, said Landolfo.
Donations
In Brazil, the ceremony officialized the donation of items by CGD-PV to 88 charity institutions throughout the country. In Argentina, 12 institutions were served by CD-PV Buenos Aires. New vehicles and thousands of items were delivered to work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other health care, education and technology areas, as well as appliances and industrial equipment, building materials and even an elevator and a circus tarp.
The representatives of the institutions participated in the ceremonies and gave thanks for the donations, reinforcing their solemn commitment to their good service to people. “We can continue the action that generates harmony among the different,” said Erica Guelfi, from the Brazilian Parkinson Association, of São Paulo, at the event that took place in Brazil.
