A New Consciousness to Create a New World
A New Consciousness to Create a New World
Continuing a social act that has been carried out for 45 years, two donation ceremonies were held in Brazil on October 26, 2024, in the cities of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso and Recife, Pernambuco. Organized by the Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA (General Center for the Tithe – PRÓ-VIDA) and its affiliates, the events benefited 70 philanthropic institutions from the North, Northeast, and Midwest regions of the country, reaching a total of 43,000 directly assisted individuals. To date, more than 13,000 institutions worldwide have benefited from donations like these, along with 15 vocational schools constructed and donated by the Centers for the Tithe – PRÓ-VIDA in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Italy, and Portugal.
Operating through voluntary work, the Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA receives anonymous and optional donations, which are fully directed to institutions that perform social work, regardless of nationality, political ideology, or religion. It thus represents a beacon of hope for a world as diverse as ours: “Those who have give to those who don’t.”
As explained by Márcio Marques, who spoke on behalf of the Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA at the Recife event, acts of donation are a natural consequence of the expansion of consciousness of the human being, made possible through mental and philosophical development. “With expanded consciousness, (…) we also perceive the existence of our fellow beings and realize that we are not alone in this world,” explained Márcio.
The ephemerality of the donated material goods was noted by Eduardo Natrieli, who represented Central Geral do Dízimo PRÓ-VIDA at the Cuiabá event, held at the PRÓ-VIDA Club in Chapada dos Guimarães. He reminded the audience that other needs will arise for the benefited social organizations and took the opportunity to explain why PRÓ-VIDA makes such donations.
“So, it is not what we give that is important, but rather the example we are setting. This is why we show what we do, to set an example so that this example and the teachings of Dr. Celso [Charuri, founder of PRÓ-VIDA] may spread throughout Brazil and the world, touching the hearts and minds of those with good will,” he remarked.
Gratitude from Those Who Receive, Gratitude from Those Who Give
For Adelar Comiran of the Therapeutic Association Portal da Sobriedade, of Lucas do Rio Verde, a benefited organization at the Cuiabá event, the donation was received with honor and gratitude. “There’s no room in my chest to hold the size of my heart, it’s beating so strongly with joy at being here at this moment, receiving this donation. I am sure that the Central Geral do Dízimo was born from a dream, and this dream grows more and more, as we can see now,” he explained.
Among the donated items were furniture, hospital and physical therapy equipment, household appliances, industrial equipment, electronics, pedagogical, sports, and recreational items, construction materials, musical instruments, agricultural tools, and brand-new vehicles.
In Recife, Josenilda Pedro da Silva from the Popular Educational Center Saber Viver, spoke on behalf of the benefited institutions, expressing the impact of the donated items on their daily operations. “Everyone here knows how hard it is to support our institutions. (…) So, I’m very happy, truly moved. I thank all of you for gifting us with such beautiful things, allowing us to continue our work,” she remarked.
In Cuiabá, at the end of the event, Natrieli further explained that PRÓ-VIDA carries out this work due to its commitment to building a more just world for all. “Remember this day not just for the donations received, but as a day of hope. And know that we in PRÓ-VIDA believe, work, and are certain that one day there will be a much better world for all. And to this we dedicate our lives,” he commented.
